Haven't fully complied with the requirement to remain open and operational after seismic event

The vast majority of hospitals have met the first deadline to upgrade buildings at risk of collapse during a strong quake — first 2008, then pushed to 2020. But at least 23 out of 414 have at least one building that has yet to comply. The state gave those hospitals extensions up to 2025 in some cases.

62.3%

Haven’t complied with standards that require buildings to remain operational after earthquake

The 2030 deadline requires hospital buildings to remain fully operational and provide services following a quake. Currently, 258 of 414 hospitals have at least one building yet to meet this second set of standards.
